Lisa-Marleen Buchholz is a German jazz trumpeter, flugelhorn player and composer, who was born and raised in Berlin.

In 2023 she completed her trumpet studies at the Jazz Institute Berlin.  There she received lessons from the international renowned trumpeters Bastian Stein, Sebastian Studnitzky, Dominik Gaus and the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra Andre Schoch.

In the first semester of her studies, the Berlin trumpeter was able to secure a place in the highly respected Federal Jazz Orchestra.  As a member of this orchestra (in the 2018/19 line-up) she undertook extensive tours to the USA, Canada, England, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro and the Netherlands and played concerts in collaboration with the WDR Big Band, Randy Brecker, Django Bates, Ansgar Striepens, Steffen Schorn, Nils Klein and Jiggs Whigham. She was also part of the state youth jazz orchestras of Brandenburg, Hamburg and Berlin.

Lisa Buchholz has already worked with a wide variety of jazz formations and big bands, such as the JazzBaltica All Star Band in cooperation with Nils Landgren or the Gaststätte zum Heißen Hirten.

But the young trumpeter and flugelhorn player also feels at home in other genres. She has already played performances with Tom Jones, Revolverheld and the indie pop band Because of Lisbeth.

She currently plays and composes primarily for her own jazz sextet NIOKAT. She also plays regularly as a guest musician for the Deutsche Oper Berlin and with the successful pop-rock band AnnenMayKantereit.

Since 2020 she has been an official artist of the renowned Dutch trumpet and flugelhorn manufacturer Van Laar.
